Reverse 6th Pay Commission

I think it is time for a ‘reverse pay commission’ for our country.

The scales should start from Rs 80,000 per month for a Lower Division Clerk going up to Pay Band-1 with Grade Pay Rs 1900 for Secretary to Govt of India.

The reason is clear and there for all to see. It is the lower echelons of the steel frame who take ‘decisions’ and prepare file notings with all the might of concentrated negative unconstructive application of mind and energy, while the officers merely affix their initials. ‘The Secretary / Minister has seen’, the file would ultimately proclaim with pride. So who is actually involved in a tougher job ?

Pun intended.

Welcoming the Karamchari Shikshak Sanyukt Morcha’s decision to call off its strike, the chief minister said the government was sensitive towards the feelings of employees and was committed to resolving their problems.

The employees had yesterday called off their indefinite strike to protest a police baton charge, after a meeting with Additional Cabinet Secretary Vijay Shanker Pandey.

"Despite having limited resources the state government implemented the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, which created an additional burden of 21,000 crore on the exchequre, only in the interest of theemployees," Mayawati said.

Mayawati asked the employees to consider the financial resources of the state while raising their demands.

The government on Tuesday ordered release of the second instalment of arrears due to employees and pensioners on account of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

The decision will benefit 3.3 million employees and 4 million pensioners on the civilian side besides uniformed defence service personnel.

Government servants employed after January 2004 -- when the new contributory pension scheme came into force -- would, however, have to submit the form for registering under the new scheme to get their arrears. Employees are also advised put this money into GPF.

A meeting of the UFBU was held in Chennai 6 th pay commission

A meeting of the UFBU was held in Chennai

A meeting of the UFBU was held in Chennai. Leaders of all the 9 constituent unions were present. The meeting was presided over by Com. K.S. Shetty (President, AIBOC).

The meeting congratulated the bank employees and officers for their magnificent unity and amazing militancy and thus making the 2 days’ strike on 6th & 7th August, 2009 a resounding success.

The meeting noted that the unity of the rank and file under the banner of UFBU has ensured the thwarting of all attempts on the part of IBA and Government to retract from offers made. The meeting took for consideration the proposals of the IBA and decided to pursue the same with IBA in the next round of Bipartite Talks before taking a final decision.

Talks with IBA:

The IBA had fixed 12th September, 2009 for the next round of Talks. However, since the date is not convenient for a few constituent unions, we have asked for a revised date for the Talks within the next week or 10 days. As soon as the meeting is fixed and held, we shall inform you of further developments."
